Pressure Relief Valve | Safety Valve | Rupture Disk | Pop-Off Valve
A pressure relief valve is a critical piece of safety equipment that protects both the pressure washer operator and the machine in the event of a dangerous pressure buildup. A safety pressure relief valve is typically installed at the coil outlet of a hot water pressure washer. Pressure relief valves are often designed to allow reset after the over-pressure issue has been corrected. A rupture disk assembly protects against thermal expansion within the pressure washer coil. Rupture disks require replacement upon opening, and cannot be reset.
A pop-off valve offers pump protection and is typically plumbed on the high-pressure side of the pump; set at approximately 300 PSI above where the unloader is set. A pop off valve will protect the pump against unloader malfunction.
Pressure relief valves can be used interchangeably. If you are uncertain as to which safety valve is best suited for your pressure washer, please feel free to give us a call!
